Venezuelan authorities raised the toll from the June 24 twin earthquakes — a magnitude 7.2 foreshock and a 7.5 mainshock seconds later, the strongest in over a century — to 4,333 dead as of July 11, with the count still climbing and tens of thousands of homes reported at risk, per EFE and El Mundo. An earlier July 7 tally put deaths at 3,535 with 16,740 injured and about 18,000 unhoused, per AP and Al Jazeera citing National Assembly president Jorge Rodriguez. The UN estimates roughly $37bn in damage, near 6% of GDP; La Guaira remains the worst-hit zone.
